Council
What is the Council?
The Social Enterprise Coalition's (SEC) Council is made up of 46 members and consists of social enterprise leaders, representatives from social enterprise networks, umbrella organisations and partners. The main role of the Council is to act as an advisory body to the board, and connect SEC with the wider membership.

What does the Council do?
The Council meets twice a year to:
- Inform and advise the Board;
- Contribute to the development of SEC's policy agenda and reporting from forums and working groups;
- Help promote awareness-raising and advocacy campaigns for SEC and its members;
- Help disseminate the results of policy dialogues to policy makers, practitioners and to wider stakeholders;
- Contribute to the formulation of advice to Government;
- Elect six Council members to the Board.
Over the last year the Council has contributed and debated items ranging from SEC's manifesto for social enterprise to the longer term vision, values and mission of SEC.
