Social Mission

HOMETRUTHS is a cooperative with a social mission to support survivors of domestic violence to make choices which will increase their safety and to raise awareness of the impact of domestic violence on our communities.

About

HOMETRUTHS is based in Swindon and Wiltshire and is the first co-operative in the UK to provide services to domestic abuse survivors. The organisation is staffed by CAADA trained and qualified Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs) with understanding, knowledge and experience to help survivors of domestic violence and abuse to live more safely.

HOMETRUTHS is community based and service user led and has a Management Committee comprising of professionals from partner agencies and service users. This ensures that services are responsive to the needs of local people who need that support.

The work of HOMETRUTHS

HOMETRUTHS provide direct services to domestic abuse survivors, specialising in risk reduction and increasing safety. In addition they offer training, intervention work, consultancy, research and partnership working with statutory and non-statutory organisations to raise awareness of the impact of domestic abuse with organisations, employers and individuals.
