Q. How do I join Social Enterprise UK?
Joining is simple and easy. Fill in or download the application form on our website and our membership team will process your application. You will then receive our welcome letter and invoice for membership fees within 10 days. Call our membership team on 0207 793 2324 if you need any assistance in completing your application.
Q. Why should I join Social Enterprise UK?
Whether you are starting up a social enterprise, interested in growing your existing social enterprise, turning your business into a social enterprise or are a charity, business and/or public sector body interested in engaging with the social enterprise movement there are a number of excellent reasons to join us.

Q. How much does it cost to join?
The cost of membership varies on a sliding scale according to size of turnover of an organisation. The smaller turnover your organisation has the less you have to pay for membership. These rates can be found here. If you haven’t yet started trading or you don’t know your first year’s turnover, you can estimate this based on planned turnover or your history to-date.
Q. What discounts can I get on membership fees?
Please check to see if your organisation qualifies for one of our discounts to membership fees.
1. 24 month joining fee
If you join SEUK for 24 months you get a 10% discount off your overall fee.
2. Refer a member discount
You can receive a 5% discount on your next membership fee for every referral to us who becomes a member. This can go up to a maximum discount of 15% for you.
3. Social Enterprise Mark
If you are a Social Enterprise Mark holder you are entitled to a 10% discount off new SEUK membership. Likewise if you are a Social Enterprise UK member you will receive a 10% discount off your application to the Social Enterprise Mark fee.
PLEASE NOTE that only one discount offer can be applied at any time.
Q. What if I’m interested in joining but simply can’t afford the rate for the size of my business?
Social Enterprise UK understands that turnover levels doesn’t always equate to profit. If you would like to join but you have a genuine reason why you cannot afford one of our membership rates, you can call us to discuss - we may be able to help.
Q. Who can join Social Enterprise UK?
Our members include social enterprises; membership organisations; large companies; small businesses; charities; public sector bodies; sole traders, community and neighbourhood groups. From local grass-roots organisations to multi-million pound businesses that operate across the UK – what unites our members is their commitment to changing the world through business.
Q. Can individuals join Social Enterprise UK?
Sole Traders can become members. Individuals who don’t represent a business or organisation and want to support the social enterprise movement can support us in a number of ways. You can sign up to our general newsletter to stay up-to-date with the latest social enterprise events and activities you can get involved with at work or at home. However, SEUK represents organisations and businesses and only they can join as members.
Q. Are there other social enterprise representative bodies in the UK?
Yes, in addition to Social Enterprise UK, which has a UK-wide remit for social enterprise, each region in England has its own representative body which supports and networks social enterprises in these areas.

Q. Who can use the membership offers?
All colleagues in your organisation can take advantage of the SEUK membership offers and discounts.
Q. How many members of staff can receive SEUK e-updates and e-mails?
A maximum of four members of staff can receive e-updates and e-mails.
Q. How do we access the members’ area if we have recently joined and forgotten our password?
Please contact our membership team on 0207 793 2324 or e-mail at membership@socialenterprise.org.uk and they will be happy to re-send your password to the membership area where you can access all your member benefits.

Q. How long does my membership last?
You can choose to have 12 month or 24 month membership rates with us. If you opt for the 24 month rate this will save ten percent on your membership fees during this time period. We will renew your membership annually or bi-annually in April depending on which option you choose.
Q. How can I get my information on SEUK's e-newsletter? Do I have to be a member?
If you are a member then it is free for you to advertise in our fortnightly general newsletter (circulation 7,500), however non-members have to pay to advertise in the newsletter.
