The Office for Civil Society

We are a strategic partner of the Office for Civil Society (OCS). The OCS was created in the Cabinet Office following the formation of the Coalition Government in May 2010.

Nick Hurd is the Minister for Civil Society, responsible for charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations. He has announced that Government policy will focus on making it easier to run a charity, social enterprise or voluntary organisation; getting more resources into the sector: strengthening its independence and resilience; and making it easier for sector organisations to work with the State.
